Bill continues trying to dig himself out from under “babygate,” but Hayley’s not in a forgiving mood. Flowers help a bit, but she expects something more extravagant. He pulls out if not all, most of the stops. But then just as suddenly, he pushes pause on the evening in order to ask her about a savings account she closed without telling him.

Thinking quickly, she claims to have moved the money back into their main account. Why? Because it had been in an account meant for the child they’ve agreed not to have. Then why, he asks, did she have a personal check made out to her instead of simply transferring the funds? She claims ignorance of how banking works and then does what she does best by moving things to the bedroom!

Nicole Tries Talking Sense Into Martin

Even as Ted is spending time with Nicole and Kat, Tomas is asking Martin if there might be a bit of reconnecting going on between his parents. Kat warns her dad not to read too much into her not booting Eva from her birthday party. Martin later spends time with mom Nicole, who isn’t thrilled to hear he’s considering running for Senate in 2028.  Hearing that Vernon signed off, Nicole is livid. “I have practiced many years, and I have never seen a grandfather and grandson lose their mind at the exact same moment!” She mentions all the people who know Martin’s secret and the damage it could do. She tells him about what happened during her double-date, with Joey hinting at what he knew.

Nicole almost calls Ted to discuss the situation, but instead heads to his office to do it in person. It’s a tad awkward, as he is with Shanice at the moment. Nicole says she’ll call tomorrow and exits, leaving Ted and Shanice to agree that despite recent mixed messages, they are on the same page in that something is developing between them.

In The Final Moments…

Tomas continues to celebrate Kat’s birthday by arranging a salsa night at Uptown. He also gifts her with a miniature version of the front door to his home in Puerto Rico, saying he wants to take her there as soon as possible to meet his family. Ashley suggests that Grayson come to her place so she can cook him a nice dinner. Grayson calls his mom to tell her he has dinner plans. Upon hanging up, he’s approached by Ren who pushes him against the wall and stabs him!
