“LET’S GO!” — Fans React To Shemar Moore’s Big S.W.A.T. Spinoff Reveal
After S.W.A.T. ended after eight seasons on CBS back in May, viewers were shocked to learn about a spinoff series being in the works. Titled S.W.A.T. Exiles, Shemar would reprise his role as Daniel “Hondo” Harrelson as he works with a brand-new cast of first responders. What’s more, Sony Pictures Television already picked up the series to film 10 episodes for the first season.
While S.W.A.T. Exiles isn’t exactly out yet, Shemar did update his followers on Instagram the current status of the series. Posting a screenshot of a Variety article from October 9 on Instagram, the Criminal Minds alum revealed that the new series is in production and filming new episodes. And if that’s not enough, he also teased that fans are going to see a different side of the franchise with the upcoming spinoff.

“Ayyeee!!!! S.W.A.T. EXILES HAS STARTED PRODUCTION!!!” he wrote in the caption. “We can’t wait for you all to see it!!! It’s still S.W.A.T … it’s RAW, it’s REAL, it’s GRITTY, and it’s a FRESH new creative take through the eyes of Jason Ning 🔥🔥 Let’s go!!! 🔥🔥.”
